The Hon. Jess Gasper Jr.
Minister for Culture and Internal Affairs

Mr Gasper Jr. was elected at the last RMI General Election, November 2023, as the representative for Kili/Bikini/Ejit (KBE). Mr Gasper Jr. was appointed Minister for Culture and Internal Affairs by H.E. President Hilda Heine, immediately after her inauguration in January 2024.

Previously, Minister Gasper Jr. served as President of the Oregon Marshallese Community, Member of the state's Health PartnerSHIP Committee, Financial Task Force for the City of Salem, Advisory Member of Higher Education, and Executive Member of Oregon Pacific Islanders Coalition, he also has extensive business experience.

Minister Gasper Jr. is the co-founder of  an advocacy group for the survivors of the nuclear tests in the Marshall Islands, and remains a staunch supporter of justice for Bikinians and Marshallese people.
